The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) is pleased to announce the official establishment of the Pan-American Confederation of Mixed Martial Arts (PACOMMA).
PACOMMA was formally established on 11 September 2026 in Chía, Colombia, coinciding with the GAMMA Pan American Championships 2026.
Its formation marks an important milestone in strengthening cooperation among national mixed martial arts federations across the Pan-American region. The confederation will provide a regional platform to support the sustainable development of the sport, strengthen governance, and promote opportunities for athletes, coaches, referees, officials, and Member Federations throughout the Americas.
The inaugural leadership structure of PACOMMA is as follows:
- President: Jaime Sneyder Baron Cuervo
- Vice President: Axl Torres Zamora
- Secretary General: Lucio Carlo Gianni
- Executive Board Member: Hector Del Angel Torres
- Executive Board Member: Adam Chin Leung Kam
The Executive Board will work closely with GAMMA and its member federations to strengthen governance, organize international championships, develop educational programs, and create greater opportunities for athletes and MMA community across Pan America.
GAMMA President Shared Vision
Welcoming the establishment of the Pan American Confederation, GAMMA President Mr. Tommy Paulus Hermawan reaffirmed the organization’s mission:
“Our mission is to unite the world through the discipline and spirit of Mixed Martial Arts. We are building a legacy of safety, honor, and global recognition.”
The newly established Confederation fully supports this vision and is committed to advancing the development of Mixed Martial Arts amateur across Pan America through excellence, integrity, education, and international cooperation.
Strategic Priorities
The Executive Board has identified the following priorities for the coming years:
• Strengthen cooperation among Pan American national federations.
• Expand the calendar of Pan American championships and international competitions.
• Increase participation opportunities for youth athletes.
• Improve education and certification for coaches, referees, and officials.
• Promote integrity, respect, discipline, and athlete welfare.
• Encourage innovation and international collaboration to advance amateur MMA throughout Pan America
Looking Ahead
The establishment of the GAMMA Pan America Confederation marks the beginning of a new chapter for amateur Mixed Martial Arts in Pan Am.
Working together with GAMMA and its member federations, the Confederation aims to create new opportunities for athletes, strengthen international partnerships, and contribute to a future where sport serves not only as a platform for competition, but also as a force for peace, friendship, education, and positive social impact.
GAMMA congratulates the newly appointed leadership and looks forward to working closely with PACOMMA as it begins this important new chapter.
