The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Desiree Neely, following a fatal road accident.
Desiree was a valued member of the wider MMA community and a constant source of support alongside her husband, Jimmy Neely, an esteemed GAMMA International Technical Official and Referee. Their dedication to Mixed Martial Arts and their commitment to serving the sport have been greatly appreciated by colleagues and friends across the GAMMA family.
On behalf of the President of GAMMA, Mr. Tommy Paulus Hermawan, the Executive Board, and the entire international GAMMA community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jimmy, their children, their family, friends, and everyone affected by this devastating loss.
Our thoughts are also with Jimmy as he recovers from his injuries. During this incredibly difficult time, the entire GAMMA family stands beside him with friendship, strength and unwavering support.
Moments like these remind us that our community is more than a sporting organization. We are a family brought together by shared values, mutual respect and lifelong friendships that extend far beyond competition.
We respectfully ask the global MMA community to keep Jimmy, his children and the Neely family in their thoughts and prayers as they face the difficult days ahead.
